Future Ukraine
In December 2022, the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) successfully established Future Ukraine Limited, an Australian Public Company, limited by guarantee.
The AFUO manages Future Ukraine Limited. Future Ukraine Limited is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Future Ukraine's Charitable Purpose

providing assistance and relief to Ukrainians impacted by Russia’s invasion to support them in re-establishing their lives and livelihoods. This includes people who remain in their homes in Ukraine, who are internally displaced in Ukraine, or who have been externally displaced to Australia and other countries;

receiving (from donors), storing, transporting and distributing resources including food, medical supplies, medical infrastructure, clothing, bedding, and household items to Ukrainians experiencing poverty, distress and disadvantages as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine;

responding to disasters that have created widespread damage to property, communities, or natural environments and/or that have caused any physical or emotional suffering by providing resources, services and assistance to those affected by such disasters;

funding, creating, facilitating and enabling projects aimed at assisting Ukrainian people transition from life in wartime, by giving them the opportunity to rebuild their livelihoods, communities and country;

working collaboratively with relevant likeminded organisations that have similar purposes promote the above objects;

applying the income of the company solely to promote the purpose and objects listed in this clause; and
7
doing all acts incidental and conducive to the furtherance of the above objects.
The purpose for which the company is established is to be a public benevolent institution and to advance social or public welfare by pursuing the following charitable objects:

About Us
The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) is the peak body for 22 national community organisations throughout Australia and is actively involved in organising, promoting, and representing the Ukrainian community in Australia.
The AFUO supports many facets of community life, encouraging its members to maintain religion, language, culture and heritage whilst being active members of the broader Australian community.
The AFUO liaises with Federal and State Governments on matters relating to the Ukrainian community in Australia and represents the community to the broader Australian public.
The AFUO maintains strong links with Ukraine and works closely with the Embassy of Ukraine in Australia. The AFUO is also a member of the Ukrainian World Congress, the peak body for Ukrainian organisations in the diaspora.
How Do We Operate?
AFUO member organisations include churches, state community organisations, youth and women’s organisations, credit co-operative movement, educational, returned service, language and other organisations.
The Board of the AFUO comprises executive members who represent key facets of community life in Australia and
is responsible for the management of the AFUO as outlined in its Constitution. The Conference of Members elects the Board as outlined in the Constitution.
