As winter deepens, freezing temperatures are gripping Ukraine. At the same time, russia has escalated its missile and drone strikes on power stations, substations and heating systems – deliberately targeting civilians and leaving families, hospitals, schools and shelters without electricity or heat. Not a single power plant in Ukraine has been spared from these brutal russian attacks.
Kyiv is now facing its worst heating and electricity crisis since the start of russia’s full scale invasion, with officials warning of a looming humanitarian crisis and a state of emergency declared in the country’s energy sector.
This fundraiser supports the global call out from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for urgent emergency energy assistance, as communities struggle with widespread power outages and extreme winter conditions.
Generators are vital right now. They provide immediate power when the grid is destroyed - keeping homes warm, medical equipment running, and lives protected during power outages.
Funds raised through “Warmth for Ukraine” will help us purchase and deliver generators across the country, and provide critical energy resources for Ukrainian communities, families and children.
