Join the Embassy of Ukraine in Australia and Future Ukraine at an Evening to Protect, Save and Rebuild Ukraine to raise funds for UNITED24, President Zelenskyy’s global fundraising platform.
This exclusive fundraising dinner will feature Jamala, one of Ukraine’s biggest music stars and the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 with her heartbreaking song inspired by her grandmother, who lost a child during the deportation of the Crimean Tatars by Stalin.
Our guest speaker from the frontlines will be the world-famous Ukrainian combat medic and Invictus athlete Yulia “Taira” Paievska, who documented the Russian destruction of Mariupol on bodycam and survived Russian captivity for three months.
MC-ed by award-winning writer, performer and producer Andrew Denton, the evening will raise funds for UNITED24's AU$2.6 million rebuild of a school that was destroyed by a Russian missile attack. Located in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Velykokostromska Gymnasium was the only educational institution in the village and included pre-school, primary and high school facilities.
Jamala will be supported by members of the well-known Sydney soul band The Bluesberries, who produced the hauntingly beautiful six-track EP Blue Skies in early December 2022 in collaboration with 70 Australian and Ukrainian musicians to raise funds for Ukraine. Violinist and singer Mar’yana Sywak will join The Bluesberries.
Live auction items include a stunning necklace donated by Paspaley, artworks by Ivan Marchuk (Honoured Artist of Ukraine) and Charles Billich, Ukrainian fashion by designers Khrystyna Rachytska and Etnodim, and a luxury holiday stay.
